1. Boat owner(s) are, and will be a resident of the Town of Greenwich during that time when you will use our facilities. Boat owner(s) will be the principal operator of the vessel(s) you are registering with us. Minimum age requirement for facility use is 18 years old.
2. Any person using a watercraft must have a valid Marina Facility Use Permit or be a member of the household with their own Marine Facility Use Permit, and must follow all Town of Greenwich Rules and Regulations.
3. The Town of Greenwich shall not be responsible for any loss, or damage to any vessel or boating equipment, or for any personal injuries resulting from such use.
4. For Byram Park and Greenwich Point, boat owner(s) must have a valid Marine Facility Use Permit and submit a Guest Request Form prior to guest being granted access.
5. Marinas are open from April 15 through November 15. You must remove your vessel by November 15. Failure to comply may result in loss of marina privileges the following year.
6. The Dockmaster is the final arbiter as to adequacy and safety of lines and weights used at our Marinas.
7. You must use an adequate number of bumpers to protect your boat as well as those along side of you. Vessel(s) must be in good condition, under its own power, registered, identified, marked, equipped, and maintained as required by law and safe practice.
8. The LOA (length over all) is used to determine the maximum size boat that will be allowed in a slip. This includes anchors, bow pulpits, swim platforms, stern drives, outboards that are trimmed down, and anything else that will increase the LOA. It is the owner’s responsibility to verify ahead of time that the vessel meets the criteria, and it will be confirmed by our staff after arrival.
9. Pursuant to Section 7-88 of the Town Code, failure to follow Town rules and ordinances will result in fines, non-compliance fees, and possible suspension of all rights, privileges and permits to use Town of Greenwich Boating Facilities or all other Parks and Recreation services, including but not limited to Park Passes. Please see the Dockmaster or the staff at Town Hall for the most complete and updated Marina rules.
10. All boaters who submit a Renewal Application for their slips from the prior season are required to occupy the slip with an appropriately sized (LOA) and permitted vessel by June 15. If the resident does not occupy the slip by June 15 the slip will be forfeited with no refund as per the Town of Greenwich Code of Ordinances Section 7-87.
11. Vessels remaining in the boatyard after June 15 are subject to overtime storage charges pursuant to the Town of Greenwich Code of Ordinances Section 7-66. Summer Overtime Dry Storage fines start at $150/wk, up to $250/wk and begin June 15 of each year. Dry Sail Permits are the exception, these must be approved and paid for prior to the boat being brought onto Town property.
12. Winter Overtime Wet Storage fines are $250/wk, and begin November 15th of each year.
13. Town issued stickers must be placed on vessels/trailers prior to facility use, or a fee will be enforced.
14. Settlement of open balances must be cleared prior to renewal. There will be a $25 fee for any returned checks.
