Fall Softball Girls ages 9 - 14

Fall Softball program will consist of practices and games for continued player development.10U will be a town based recreational program. 12U and 14U eligible participants will be invited to a preseason tryout. A Firebird travel team will be formed for each of these age groups, with all other participants playing in the recreational program.

Eligibility: Participants must meet the age requirement by the start date of the program.
Girls 10U Ages 9 & 10 years
Girls 12U Ages 11 & 12 years
Girls 14U Ages 13 & 14 years

Schedule: Season will run from September 3 through October 26 Teams will receive up to 2 practices per week and occasional games throughout the 8 weeks. Practices will be scheduled on weeknights. Games will be scheduled on weeknights and/or weekends. A full schedule will be sent out to all participants closer to the start date. Firebird travel teams may be required to travel to away games. Weather and activity updates will be available on our Recreation Sports website at Team Sideline. You may sign up for automated e-mail and/or text alerts from this website. Location: Various fields in Greenwich and away games to be determined based on the schedule.

Fees: Resident: $182, Non- Resident: $202.
There are no refunds and we do not pro-rate fees.
Requests for credit will only be considered if received in writing, prior to the start of the program.
There is a $20 administrative fee for credits and a $25 fee for any returned checks.

Participant Information:
• Players supply their own fielding glove, bat, and pants.
• Catcher’s equipment, softballs and helmets are provided.
• All participants should bring a filled water bottle labeled with their name.

Teams: Requests for team assignments are not guaranteed and will only be considered if submitted 3 weeks prior to the program start date. Players will be assigned to teams based on age and school/home location. Final teams will be confirmed after coaches’ meeting. Our aim is to balance teams while also providing a fun experience for players.

Youth Scholarship Program
Parks and Recreation has established a youth scholarship program which provides financial assistance to qualifying residents.

Volunteer Coaches: Volunteer coaches are ESSENTIAL to this program. Acceptance of ALL applicants and number of teams depends on the number of volunteer coaches. Coaches will also be subject to a background check.

Photos: The Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to use program or event photographs including participants in official Town of Greenwich media only (Website, newsletter, flyers and advertisements, Facebook, and/or Instagram). Please contact the Recreation Office if you object to the use of photographs and you or your child(ren) in Town media.

Sponsors: Anyone who would like to sponsor a team should contact Lea Clark at (203)-622-2228 or [email protected]. The fee is $500, and the proceeds benefit the Recreation Fund. Checks must be made payable to the “Greenwich Parks and Recreation Foundation.” Sponsors will receive their logo and/or business information on the team uniform, the league schedule, and logo with hyperlink on our sports recreation website.
